Lotus Kids * Yoga Teacher Certification
Growing
Lotus Kids helps teach better body awareness, self-control, flexibility, focus,
and coordination in children, while providing a fun, nurturing, and creative
environment. If you are a teacher,
parent or caregiver, we will prepare you with kids’ yoga instructional tools
and strategies that are age-specific.
Sara Holland & Lara Azzarito Ward, your
Growing Lotus Kids faculty, are experienced
yoga teacher trainers and educators, who have designed age-specific kids’ yoga
programs. You will leave prepared to teach kid’s yoga, the
focus of which is educational, fitness-oriented,
and on improving children’s self-esteem.

This program is right for
you if you are a:
- Yoga teacher
- Parent/Grandparent
- Pre-School, Academic or Physical Education Teacher
- Dance or Kids’ Fitness Teacher
- Caregiver or Nanny
We will guide you through
understanding the stages of child development as it relates
to them physically, emotionally
& mental. This training will have 3
principal sections:
- Child development
- Kids’ yoga poses
- Putting it all together
Growing Lotus Kids Yoga
Certification will prepare you to:
- Teach Over 100 age-appropriate kid-friendly yoga poses, games &
themes
- Teach a kids’ yoga class promoting healthy exercise and wellness
- Teach stress management and relaxation skills to children
- Teach age-appropriate yoga breathing and relaxation techniques
- Teach a flowing, structured class developing fun and educational
experiences
Cost Includes training manual & materials and lunch on Saturday & Sunday. Graduation entitles you to a Growing Lotus
Kids certificate & teacher website listing.

Sara Holland, is founder of owner of Growing Tree Yoga, L.L.C. She is a firm believer in the connections
between the mind and body. As an active child, Sara learned about the
life lessons that sports and physical activities can generate: lessons in
self-esteem, positive thinking and imagery, self-discipline, teamwork,
confidence, goal-setting, and a love for an active, healthy lifestyle.
These are benefits she wants to share with young people and adults.
Sara’s
received her B.A. in psychology from the University
of Kansas and her M.Ed., specializing
in motor learning, from the University
of Virginia. Her
resume as a teacher and coach include experiences as a physical education
instructor (K-4 and 7-8th grades) at St. Anne’s-Belfield School,
Charlottesville, VA; assistant softball coach at Texas Tech University,
Lubbock, TX; and assistant softball coach at the University of Virginia,
Charlottesville, VA. Sara also played softball at the University of Kansas
garnering several athletic and academic honors.

is certified through Karma Kids Yoga with Shari, Yoga Ed. with Leah
Kalish, Lotus
Gardens with Lara
Azzarito Ward, is a member of American Association of Health, Physical
Education, Recreation, and Dance (AAHPERD). Sara is also certified in
Infant/Child and Adult CPR.
Lara Azzarito Ward, 500 E-RYT, is the founder & director of Lotus Gardens, llc dedicated to educating
yoga teachers and providing yoga classes for corporations and the public. She created Lotus Gardens Yoga’s 200 Hour
Teacher Training and has personally certified over 100 yoga teachers in eleven
successful programs since 2001.
For over 25 years, Lara has taught yoga, physical fitness, stress
management, mediation and martial arts. She developed the first yoga programs
for cardiac patients at Danbury & New Milford Hospitals as well creating
employee programs for Boehringer Ingelheim, Cendant Mobility, Dow, Duracell,
Ethan Allen, Goodrich, Kimberly Clark, Praxair and Scholastic corporations.
After a car accident, she developed her own Relaxation through Movement program
which combined breath work with slow flowing movement to help her own recovery.
Lara is the creator of Yoga Ki © a beautiful blend of martial
arts & yoga. Ms. Ward has a B.A. in
Business Administration and English as well as studying secondary education
while working towards her masters’ degree.
She holds a second degree black belt in traditional Japanese Karate. Lara
and her family live in Sherman,
CT.
